History

      Faculty of Applied Sciences depends on Trakya University, which was established with the Council of Minister's decision numbered 2005/9490 on 30.09.2005. In the 2007-2008 academic year, the Department of Tourism Management and Hotel commenced education and training activities for students and secondary education programs. In the 2009-2010 academic year, the Department of Banking commenced education and training activities for students and secondary education programs. The school also has a Management Information Systems department and it is planned to start the training activities with the completion of the academic infrastructure.

      Our school has set the vision of educating innovative, competitive, knowledgeable and well-equipped students in the finance, tourism and information sector in a globalizing world. In line with the decisions of the Board of Higher Education, as well as the private sector for its graduates, equivalence has been recognized in business and exam applications in the public sector, such as departments of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. Our graduates of the Department of Tourism Management and Hotel are able to work in the hospitality industry, travel agencies and tour operators in the tourism sector, as well as being able to work in both flight and flight services of the airline companies and in the other branches of the private sector thanks to the business management-based training they receive. The graduates of the Banking Department have the opportunity to work at all levels of the operational and administrative sectors of the Banking sector. In addition, thanks to economics and finance-based training, they can be employed in all branches of the private sector in related fields. Thanks to the foreign language courses that are given systematically in our school every semester, opportunities for employment in abroad for our graduate students are possible.

      The Faculty of Applied Sciences is located at Ayşekadın Campus, the most central campus of Trakya University. The location of our school is also very comfortable with its proximity to shopping centers and the areas near the city center. Dozens of restaurants and cafeterias around Ayşekadın Campus offer various food and beverage services to our students. In addition, our school has the greenest and most environmentally friendly landscaping of Ayşekadın Campus.

      Throughout the academic year, we have hosted representatives from the banking and tourism sectors at our school, and we have been conducting studies in various panels and conferences to integrate the sectors with the university. In this way, our students have the opportunity to choose the opportunities of cooperation with industry representatives, finding internship opportunities and comparing the areas they will work in the future. In addition, various activities organized by students in our school support students to increase their organizational skills and self-confidence.
